The American Nephrology Nurses' Association announced that Nephrology Nurses Week will be celebrated Sept. 12 to 18, with activities in dialysis units, hospitals, schools and other settings across the country.



"Many patients, especially those on dialysis, need care for extended periods, so nephrology nurses have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships," said ANNA President Donna Painter, MS, RN, CNN. "I think this human connection is one reason nephrology nurses feel so strongly about their specialty."
 


As in past years, there will be celebratory luncheons, gubernatorial proclamations, news articles, visits by representatives of Congress and the U.S. Senate, and other activities.
